About
We make tools for
the people getting hit
Counterspine is an independent team in Barcelona, building defense-side tooling for the modern takedown machine. We are bootstrapped, deliberately small, and not part of any larger network or holding.
Why we exist: the takedown record is enormous — 67 million notices in Lumen, 14.5 billion URL takedowns to Google since 2011, 9.4 billion DSA statements of reasons in a single six-month window — and almost all of the tooling on top of it is built for the side sending the notices. Red Points, MarkMonitor, Pixsy, Rulta. They sell to the side enforcing copyright.
Nobody sells to the publisher whose article got buried by a back-dated DMCA. To the SEO agency whose client ranked overnight to nowhere because of a bogus filing. To the journalist getting silently delisted. To the platform that needs DSA Article 16 compliance but can't afford a $200,000 enterprise contract. To the lawyer trying to reverse-engineer a reputation-management abuse ring.
We do.
How we work
- Bootstrapped. No VC pressure to chase enterprise revenue we don't want.
- Defense-only. We do not file takedowns. We are unapologetically the layer for the side getting hit.
- Public-data-only. We ingest from Lumen, Google Transparency Report, the EU DSA Database, USCO, and CCB. No private platform crawling, no PII scraping.
What we will not do
- We will not file takedowns on your behalf.
- We will not auto-submit counter-notices. Section 512(f) liability is real and we are not a law firm.
- We will not sell PII from the takedown record to data brokers, marketers, or anyone else. The data is public; that does not mean it is fair game.
